Abigail, Forever and Always!

On May 21st, we got dressed up in our finest and went down to the courthouse to finalize Abigail's adoption. We were pretty nervous that something would go wrong and keep up from this last little step in the adoption process.

We got to the courthouse right on time and waited, and waited, and waited. Finally, it was our turn to see the judge. Abigail was an angel. She sat in my lap and smiled up at the judge. Afterwards, the judge said that she sees all kinds of terrible behavior but Abigail was perfect and so cute. Waves of relief flooded me as we walked out of the courthouse, knowing that she was ours!

A few weeks later, we went to Utah to seal Abigail to us in the Provo Temple. We had all of our immediate families in attendance, so it was a sweet blessing. In the sealing room, we knelt at the alter and Abigail's hand was placed on top of ours. She held it on there, clasping our hands and looked up wide eyed at the gorgeous chandelier that hung above the alter. I couldn't help the tears that came to my eyes as our previous girl was sealed to us for all time and eternity. No one could ever take her away from us now.

After the sealing we went to my parent's church building where Alexander gave Abigail the loveliest blessing. We then celebrated with a big Luau themed dinner in the cultural hall.
