Festive Fourth!

We love a good patriotic holiday around here, so of course we got all gussied up and hit the town for Independence Day.

We started out the day at the Prairie Village Celebration which had vendor booths, a petting zoo, and lots of activities for the kids. One vendor was offering free photo booth sessions, so we stepped behind the curtain to record the day for our posterity.

Abigail LOVED the petting zoo. She adored the baby goats, sheep, pigs, and even the baby zebra. This little girl is enthralled with animals and is never even a bit scared of them, no matter how big.

We had a little family BBQ that afternoon and then we packed up to hit our favorite fireworks spot at the Independence Visitors Center. The community band played some wonderful music and Abigail danced along. When the fireworks started she sat on my lap and watched, mouth open. She wasn't afraid of the noise and was fascinated by the gorgeous show. I call that success!
